Accordingly, in the judgment of the Privy Council all of the respondents are collectively referred to as the "Mahtani parties". The respondent, Nilon Limited, was a company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands against whom rectification of the share register was sought. Nilon was incorporated on 7 November 2002 by the second defendant, Mr Manmohan Varma.
